by | Feb 11, 2013

FROM JOANNA: I’m thrilled to have guest blogger, Diane Burnett, posting this week. You can learn more about Diane and find out how to connect with her at the end of today’s post.

This week in Thru the Word we read:

not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over
you.  Wisdom is supreme; therefore get
wisdom.  Though it cost all you have, get
understanding.  Esteem her, and she will
exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a
crown of splendor.”  Proverbs 4:6-9 (NIV)
The definition of wisdom[i]
is: the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.
God is wise and His wisdom was in existence before the
world was created.  Wisdom is one of His
wondrous gifts to us.  Some people
discover wisdom at an early age yet others may search a lifetime before they
capture it.  How do we discern between
God’s wisdom and our own?
yourself these questions:

Does it bring glory to God?

Does it line up with His Word and His promises?

This is where discernment comes in.  Listening to the whispers of our Savior through
His Word will help us to walk the right pathway.
In Exodus 4:12 (NIV) God encourages
Moses with these words:  “Now
go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Throughout Exodus, we see Moses seeking wisdom and God
leading the way.  Are you willing to let
God lead you into the “land of milk and honey,” as He did with the
Israelites?  Are you open to seeing Him fulfill
all the promises He has for you?  I know
I am.
I know that I am not always going to make the right choices.  But I will choose to seek wisdom and step out
in faith to follow His lead.
After all, God has been there, He knows the way.
can you seek wisdom and step out in faith?
