Have You Had Your Mom Vaccine? | Hannah Keeley

Mom Vaccine BLOG

School’s just around the corner…

Are you up-to-date on vaccinations? I don’t mean your children’s immunizations – I mean yours.

We’re not talking about needles and vials, doctor appointments and hour-long waits. Nor are we talking about the importance or danger of immunizations. (It’s just an analogy, folks!)

Instead, in today’s guest blog post, my friend and mom-expert, Hannah Keeley, offers an important prescription that isn’t controversial. A daily, spiritual injection that every woman needs.

Whether you’re a momma or not.

A Well-Life Check Up

With seven kids, I’ve had to stand by their side while they got their shots plenty of times.

Some of my kids were brave souls, who would set their chin, roll their shoulders back, and take it like a trooper. While other kids of mine, well, we’ll just say they tended to be more dramatic when it came to shots and vaccinations. They would cry and scream like nobody’s business.

But they all had to go through it at one time or another.

It reminds me that there are always sicknesses and diseases out there, and we need to protect ourselves from them. Not just things like Tetanus or the Mumps, but things that are much, much worse–sicknesses of the spirit.

Fortunately, we have vaccines that are available, but it’s up to us to take them. When you just roll out of bed and start reacting to everything life starts to throw at you, then you are going into this world unprotected. Before you know it, you’re going to find yourself in a cluttered home, yelling at your kids, and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

Take your MOM VACCINE! Get up early and spend some time with God.

John 16:33 reads, “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Isn’t that wonderful news? This is our immunization against the trouble of the world. It doesn’t say you may have trouble. It says you will have trouble. Now, this is something every mom can agree on.

But this verse doesn’t just diagnose our problem, it also contains a promise. We can have peace because God is greater than any problem we could ever experience. The peace is in HIM.

However, if we don’t take the time to center our lives on God first thing in the day, it makes it especially hard to come back to that peace. We need to be in God before we are in this world.

Set apart a special time in the morning to read some passages from the Bible, pray, and meditate on all of the wonderful things that God has in store for you.

Don’t start by focusing on your problems and begging for a solution. Start with power! Focus on all that is right about your life, the abundance that is coming your way, and all of your blessings.

This investment of your time will protect you from the troubles and problems that fall in your path. When they do, you will have the power to choose calm over anxiety and peace over fear. You will make the right choices because you’re not making them alone.
