Find answers to your Bible reading questions by using these seven Bible study resources - from Joanna Weaver's Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World DVD study

Where do you go with your questions about the Bible?

I love studying God’s Word, but I must admit there are times I come across things I don’t understand.  Difficult passages that make it hard to grasp the meaning and how to apply it to my personal life.

During those times, I write down my questions in my journal, but I’ve also learned that I have a choice to make: I can settle for partial understanding of God’s Word or I can take the time to seek out the whole truth.

I don’t want to miss anything God wants to speak to me,  and I know you don’t either!

So here are seven Bible study resources from my Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World DVD Study that have brought clarity and deeper insight into my life. I hope you’ll try them out!

Resources for Going Deeper

We are blessed to live in a time with so many resources available to help us study and unlock the riches of Scripture. Here are a few Bible study tools that have been invaluable to me.

~    Commentaries—explore the Bible one book at a time offering insights from Bible scholars who have thoroughly researched the meaning and context of scripture.

~    Exhaustive Concordance—identifies every instance a word is used in the Bible as well as definitions of the original Hebrew and Greek words.

~    Parallel Bible—allows you to compare verses in various translations side by side.

~    Topical Index—helps you search for a certain word or phrase as it appears in the Bible.

~    Bible Dictionary—provides deeper insight into the culture, customs, and people of biblical times.

~    Bible Software—brings these resources and more to your computer in an easily accessible and searchable format.

There are also many online study tools with search engines to help you explore: multiple Bible translations, concordances, commentaries, Bible dictionaries and encyclopedias, topical indexes, Greek and Hebrew lexicons, charts and maps, Bible reading guides, even devotionals. Many sites also offer mobile apps. Here are a few you might find helpful:
