“If we allow our dreams to drive us, then we may miss where God is leading us!”
In this episode, Tracey Mitchell shares from her book, Becoming Brave: How to Think Big, Dream Wildly, and Live Fear-Free. God has dreams and purposes for every one of our lives, not one more significant than another. He gifts us with unique skills and opportunities to make a difference, but His greatest purpose is always to draw us closer to Him.
Tracey shares the joy of walking closely to her Savior and trusting Him to reroute her life when needed, to bring purpose in her trials, and to give her the bravery to stay faithful in her daily life as much as in the big moments.

Important Takeaways from Show
- God wants to make us brave no matter what we’re facing
- Almost all prophetic children in the Bible came from barren wombs – John the Baptist, Samuel, Samson
- It was not that God was withholding something from each woman. He was reserving something that was larger than what she could imagine for an appointed season
- We have to learn how to be fruitful in what seems to be unfruitful seasons
- What’s in you will always come out in a moment of stress
- When we’re in the fire, we need to remind ourselves that everything we’ve believed is true and tell others of God’s goodness
- In times like our current situation, we need to let God teach us how to navigate a new “operating system”
- Thinking big can mean trying something new or just taking a simple step of obedience to God’s voice
- We don’t bring our dreams to God and ask Him to bless them, we allow heaven to send God’s dream for us
- Sometimes we are afraid to dream because of risk – fear of being disappointed
- Don’t let fear override the plan and purpose of God for your life
- Believe God for more – but trust Him with the results
- Joseph was willing to serve someone else’s dream – we need to do the same
- Just because my dream isn’t coming true today doesn’t mean it will never happen – it may be someone else’s day
- Quote: “I never doubted my ability to make things happen, but I never weighed out the cost to my joy”
- Make sure the end result measures up and mirrors the purpose – was God glorified or was it all about us?
- Tracey’s Prayer: “Flay me open, Lord, and show me my motives”
- When our motives are right before the Lord, we will experience joy. When we don’t we’ll be exhausted
- Invite spiritual mentors to keep you accountable: Why are you doing this? What’s the purpose behind it?
- In this increasingly divided culture, we need to be gracious, reasonable women
- Whenever I feel the need to insert my opinion in every subject, I’m probably walking in pride – Joanna
- Lord, help us be brave and humble. Submitted to God and willing to dream His dreams
I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted. ~ Job 42:2
