Happy New Year and Welcome to ABIDE 2025!
Happy New Year! It’s time to start our new Bible Reading adventure – and I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about it!
For the first time ever, we will spend the entire year in the NEW TESTAMENT. Living with Jesus in the gospels and tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit to live the holy life we’ve been called to as Christians.
ABIDE 2025 will take us slowly through the New Testament. With only 28-30 verses on average assigned to be read daily, we’ll be able to read prayerfully and thoughtfully – allowing the Holy Spirit to make the Word come alive as we meditate on it throughout the day.
You’ll see in the schedule (available below) that I’ve inserted Acts, Romans and 1 Corinthians between the gospels so that we can better absorb the Good News contained in each one.
As always, I’ve created a FREE Bible Reading Journal that includes the daily schedule as well as space to record what you learn. Plus we’ll be posting the assignments over on FACEBOOK where you can join the sweet reading community that gathers there. We’d love to hear what God’s speaking to you.
Let’s Get Started…

THIS WEEK’S READING FOCUS: Matthew 1 – Matthew 4
TODAY’S READING FOCUS: Matthew 1
Tips to get the most out of your reading…
1. Before you begin, ask the Holy Spirit to remove any preconceived ideas or biases so that you can receive a fresh word from the Lord.
2. Read the assigned scripture portion slowly until something speaks to you.
3. In journal, write the verse(s) word-for-word, including the reference.
- – Write down how it impressed you.
- – Respond to what you discover about God or yourself.
- – Take all of it to the Lord in prayer.
4. Leave a comment in that day’s reading assignment thread on Facebook including the verse reference and how it spoke to you.
Looking forward to growing together!
