Wow…Here I am!

Hi sweet friend,

You behold upon your screen, a Christmas miracle. Only those who know me best know what a momentous day this truly is! I’ve always dreamed of being one of those organized, efficient writers who communicate regularly with their readers, answering mail promptly and generally making everyone feel incredibly special.

Unfortunately, as some of you can attest, I really stink at that! In fact, there are some of you reading this blog who have no idea who I am because it has been so long since you emailed or wrote me a letter, attended a conference or met me somehow in passing.

Joanna who? you ask. 🙂

Please accept my most humble apologies. I wish I had some really good excuse like, I’ve been in the remote jungles of Bora Bora saving tree frogs or that negotiating Mid-East peace talks has demanded most of my time. But alas, I’m just a woman like you with life and kids and my schedule running every which way.

But for the past year God has been challenging me to bring my writing and professional life into order. And while I’ve been making progress on several fronts, (like this blog I’m launching) this is definitely a big step for me. SO, though I start this new year with high hopes, I can’t promise that I’ll be regular with my postings. BUT HEY! Check in now and then, I might surprise us all!

Another leap for this-woman-kind is a website that should be ready in May at www.www.joannaweaverbooks.com . To be honest, I’ve resisted having a web presence, I didn’t feel a release from the Lord to do it. But these past few months I’ve felt a stirring and even an excitement about what a website could be, not just for me, but for all of us as sisters in Christ.

Eventually, I hope to have a chat board area where Bible study groups who have used or are using Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World and/or Having a Mary Spirit: Allowing God to Change Us from the Inside Out can exchange ideas and encouragement. While you can currently find downloadable workbook pages and a leader’s guide for the Having a Mary Spirit study at www.havingamaryspirit.com, the new website will provide these helps as well as others for both studies.

I hope to send out my newsletter twice a year, but if you’d rather not receive any material from me, I completely understand – my delete button is nearly worn out trying to get rid of all the extraneous information that comes knocking at my cyberdoor. Just click on the unsubscribe link below to delete your name from my database – I’ll miss you, but I’ll still love you! 🙂

It has been such a privilege to hear from many of you. To read how God has changed your life through the story of these two sisters of Bethany both humbles and amazes me. I pray that you will continue to choose the “Better Part” of sitting at Christ’s feet. But as you do, I pray that you will also allow God to get His hands on you. For He wants to make you beautiful, shaping and changing you into the image of Christ. So that together we all may say, we’re —

Becoming His,
Joanna
